The succession & digital-legacy vault

Your legacy, sealed —
opened only when it's time.

A will decides who inherits. Kaitara Vault makes sure your family can actually find and reach it all — your accounts, nominations, crypto keys, documents and final words — released only when the guardians you trust agree it's time.

🔒 No one can open it alone — not even us. Independent security review in progress.

Over ₹72,000 crore lies unclaimed

That much sits unclaimed in Indian banks alone (RBI, 2026) — plus tens of thousands of crores more in unclaimed insurance and shares, and untold crypto lost with a single forgotten seed phrase. Not for lack of a will, but because families never knew the assets existed, or couldn't access them. A will is of little use if nobody can find what it's meant to share.

Who it's for

Families & assets in India

Bank & demat accounts, insurance, nominations, lockers, property papers, passwords — in one place your family can actually reach.

Crypto holders

A lost seed phrase means funds frozen forever. Escrow your keys so guardians — not a lost note — can pass them on.

NRIs

Indian assets your family abroad doesn’t know about, and family here who can’t reach them. One vault bridges both.

How it works

Like a group safe that opens only when enough of your trusted keyholders agree.

1You seal it

Your accounts, nominations, keys, documents and messages are encrypted — locked the moment you save.

2Guardians hold the keys

The key is split among the people you trust. Any few of them together can open it — no single person can, and neither can we.

3It opens at the right time

When enough guardians agree, the vault unlocks and the people you named can see and receive what you left.

Why it's safe

No one can open it alone

It takes several of your chosen guardians agreeing together — a threshold you set. One person can’t.

Even we can’t read it

Your data is encrypted with keys we never hold in full. A breach of our systems reveals nothing.

Nothing is lost

Set it so a few unreachable guardians never lock your family out — redundancy by design.

Tamper-evident

Every action is written to an append-only trail. Nothing can be quietly changed or swapped.

The companion to your will — not a replacement

Kaitara Vault is not a legal will and doesn't need a lawyer to use. A proper will should still be written, signed and witnessed. What the Vault does is hold a copy of it plus everything a will leaves out — the accounts, nominations, passwords, crypto keys, instructions and final messages — so your family can actually act on it.

Questions

Is my information really private?

Yes. Everything is encrypted before it’s stored, and it can only be unlocked when your chosen guardians approve together. We cannot read it, and neither can anyone who breaches our systems.

What if Kaitara shuts down?

Your content is encrypted with standard, well-documented cryptography and stored in your own region. Our commitment is a durable design (and, over time, an open client) so access never depends on us being around.

What if a guardian loses their key?

You choose more guardians than are needed to unlock (e.g. any 5 of 8), so a few lost keys never lock your family out.

Is this a legal will?

No. A valid will must be written, signed and witnessed. Kaitara Vault holds a copy of your will plus everything it leaves out — the accounts, keys, instructions and messages your family needs to act on it.
